Glutinous Rice with Chicken
Glutinous rice, more formally known as sticky rice is a particular type of rice that is grown in certain Southeastern Asian countries.
Here is a delicious glutinous rice with chicken that you can cook at home without being difficult to cook.
There are three parts to Glutinous Rice with Chicken. They are
(1) cooking the meat
(2) cooking rice
(3) steaming rice
It is cooked with chicken that everyone can eat. Instead of chicken, also pork can be used in this way.
I. How to cook meat
1 | Chicken (breast) | 80 g |
2 | Shiitake mushroom | 40 g |
3 | Chicken powder | 1 spn |
4 | Starch | 2 spn |
5 | Light soy sauce | 2 spn |
6 | Dark soy sauce | 1 tbsp |
7 | Sugar | 2 spn |
8 | Oil | 2 spn |
The chicken is needed to be clean with salt. Clean the mushrooms in water and cut them into 4 pieces. Mix all ingredients and marinate for 1 hour. When full time of one hour, add 2spn of oil and chicken are cooked, heating the meat over medium heat. Add a little water (you do not need to put a lot of water). When the chicken is 50% cooked, put it out of the oven.
II. How to cook rice
1 | Shan rice (white) | 3 cups |
2 | Shan rice (black) | 1 cup |
3 | Chinese curry power | 1 spn |
4 | Sugar | 1 spn |
5 | Chicken powder | 1 spn |
6 | Oyster oil | 2 spn |
7 | Light Soy Sauce | 2 spn |
8 | Star nut | 5 pcs |
9 | Cloves | 6 pcs |
Wash the rice and soak it for at least 5 hours. We cook a little oil, star nut, cloves, and onion in the pot. Then reduce the heat and cook the rice and all the ingredients. After cooking, it is ready to steam rice. But it is not yet.
III. How to steam rice
Fry sausage, boil the egg, and cut them. First, we add the chicken, egg, sausage, and mushroom to the cup. Then fill the rice(no.2). Do not fill in the full rice. Add chicken curry (no.1) and 5spn of water to the rice. Only then can glutinous rice be obtained. Add water to the pot and cook for 1 hour. Finished it.
Is eating Glutinous Rice healthy?
Glutinous rice contains vitamins B and D, selenium, zinc, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus. These nutrients are very good for growing and maintaining good bone density. They are also vital for the immune system, nerve function, metabolism and organ performance. Selenium in glutinous rice can lower the risk of chronic diseases and reduce oxidative stress in the body. It also may reduce Diabetes.
Glutinous rice can be quite unhealthy if you eat a lot of it.
Eating too much glutinous rice can cause indigestion, bloating, gastric acid reflux, heartburn and other stomach ailments. A good suggestion is adding fruits and vegetables to a meal containing glutinous rice will be well-balanced meal and can provide the vitamins and minerals what you need.
